About Us

About us.

Preston Area Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1984 by members of the community that saw the need to have fire protection for not only them but their neighbors. Preston Fire has undergone changes throughout its inception as time moved forward. Preston Fire is now known as Hickory County Community Fire with the merger of Weaubleau Volunteer Fire Department in January of 2024. Both stations are committed to the health and welfare of the community we serve, with our motto “Be Better Today Than We Were Yesterday”. Currently between the two station, we have more than 25 volunteer fire fighters and emergency responder personnel.
